Advent at St. Scholastica Monastery

The Community Room Christmas Tree is surrounded by gifts for the hardworking staff of the St. Scholastica Monastery who enjoyed a Christmas party on December 20th.

An afternoon of singing Christmas Carols and reflecting on memories from Christmas past was led by Lisa Wagner-Carollo who is the Founding Director of Still Point Theatre Collective and volunteers from the Ravenswood Presbyterian Church on December 17th. The group even sang Happy Birthday to Sister Victoria Marconi, OSB, who turned 95 that day! Please press play and enjoy listening to the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago from St. Joseph Court Infirmary sing Silent Night in the above video.

Prioress Sister Judith Murphy, OSB, leads the blessing of the Community Room Christmas Tree on Sunday December 17th with many members of the community present to commemorate this wonderful gift and blessing of living together in community. Scroll through the slideshow to view a few photos.

Enjoy a brief video of the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago at Advent Vespers on Sunday December 17th, 2017.
